Puppy Portraits with Purpose: Shepadoodles Raised in Eaton, CO
If you’re searching for a NoCo puppy photographer to capture your litter with heart, care, and editorial polish—you’re in the right place. This recent session featured seven energetic and soulful Shepadoodle puppies raised in Eaton, Colorado. As soon as I arrived, it was full-on puppy chaos—in the best way. The breeder told me they usually just nap and snuggle, but once I arrived they engaged in full-on play mode (and some showing off).
These puppies gladly followed me, nibbled at my shoes, and took turns giving kisses until I sat down and waited them out (which worked… eventually). Once they settled, we found a few shady spots and took turns capturing each of their unique little personalities.
While Shepadoodles are often lower-shedding than their German Shepherd parent, not all are hypoallergenic. Coat types can vary even within the same litter. If allergies are a concern, spend time with the specific puppy before making a decision—or consult with the breeder about coat expectations based on genetics.
These pups have been genetically tested, are expected to weigh 35–60 pounds, and are already showing the traits that make Shepadoodles such sought-after service and family companions. Bred on a farm, they have benefited from fresh air, good exposure, and lots of interaction from two sweet girls who help love on them until adoption day.

There are 7 pups in the litter—5 boys and 2 girls—and every single one brought something different to their portraits.
Meet the Shepadoodles
1. Lincoln (Green Collar)
Lincoln was the standout for me—maybe it was his alert expression, or that he knew to look at the camera. Smart guy! He was calm, focused, and gave me the impression he’d be easy to train. Total heart dog vibes.

2. Adams (Blue Collar)
Adams was gentle and grounded. He waited his turn, stayed close, and had this sweet emotional depth that made him easy to connect with. Look at that puppy gaze! Swoon…

3. Susan (Black Collar, Girl)
Susan sits with grace… in a litter of puppies, she stood out with a more gentle girl-vibe right away. She stared me down early and followed me like a little shadow—equal parts regal and responsive. She’d be amazing in a therapy or service capacity.

4. Betsy (Tan Collar, Girl)
Betsy is sweet and sturdy. Active for sure, but less intense than the boys dogs, at least with my time spent with the litter of puppies!

5. Jefferson (Orange Collar)
Jefferson had charm for days. It’s like he knew how to pose his tail and tip his head… Curious, gentle, and camera-ready. He’s got a little soul patch on his chin and accent on his chest!

6. George (Gray Collar)
George’s curls are adorable! Look how proper he’s trying to be at just 8 weeks old!

7. Roosevelt (Red Collar)
Roosevelt struck me as a stoic and sturdy boy. Most of the boys didn’t want to hold still and this little guy waited until the end to sit still with the red chimney in the background! Look at that wide gate! He’s ready to serve & protect, I’d say!

Why Shepadoodles Make Incredible Service + Family Dogs
If you’re looking for a dog that’s emotionally connected and mentally sharp, this breed mix is one to know. German Shepherds and Standard Poodles both rank in the top tier for intelligence—and their hybrid offspring are often described as “handler-focused,” emotionally in tune, and eager to work.
Shepadoodles are:
- Highly trainable
- Quick to bond
- Protective without overreacting
- Adaptable to structure and schedule
This makes them a strong fit for:
- Families with kids who want a loyal companion
- Adults needing emotional or psychiatric support animals
- Service/therapy dog placements with professional training
- Owners who love the outdoors and want a dog that can keep up
I personally love watching dog training videos—American Standard Dog Training is one of my favorites on YouTube for no-fluff, real-world examples of what working dogs need. If you’re a new or prospective Shepadoodle owner, I highly recommend checking them out! I’m sure there’s other influencers with great resources on dog training, but my boys and I have really enjoyed this guy!

Why Professional Puppy Portraits Matter
If you’re a breeder in Northern Colorado or Southern Wyoming, you already know first impressions matter. Clear, connected photos can help families bond with their future pup before they ever meet in person.
Professional puppy photos:
- Elevate your program’s presentation
- Help future buyers spot personality and temperament
- Give families a keepsake of the earliest stage of life
- Provide you with shareable, brand-building content
These puppies won’t stay little for long. Within weeks, they’ll be gangly teens and soon after, full-grown companions. Documenting this stage is not only a beautiful gesture—it’s also a powerful investment.
